Call To Order 8:36am


Minutes/Warrants/Delegations



  • Minutes 6/11/2008 (Whittington/Smith) approved Passed unanimously


  • Warrants approved (McKenna/Kreckman) Passed unanimously


  • Delegations: Discussion of GAC's response to Basil Bullard's actions on police videotape 5/31/2008
  • Motion to strike last sentence of letter to Basil Bullard (Kreckman/Smith) Passed unanimously
  • Further complaints by Bullard about the letter and the situation giving rise to the letter and with general dissatisfaction with GAC and airport manager. Motion to postpone discussion indefinitely(Kreckman/Smith) passed unanimously.




New Business




  • Discussion on delaying payment from Jim Breault for land rent. Discussion centered around typical farming practice versus reasonable expectation of payment. Motion (McKenna/Whittington) to amend land rental agreement with Jim Breault making payment due at harvest rather than at contract signing PASSED. (Ayes: Caffrey,Smith, Whittington and McKenna Nayes: Kreckman

Manager's Report



  • Fuel Farm: discussion with Midland airport staff about new fuel system. Potential to have 100 LL system in 90 days. Presentation next month. Packets to be distributed to GAC prior to meeting.
  • Runway lights circuit breaker tripped: no apparent reason
  • Crack & Seal: Neil B at MDOT crack sealing scheduled for September. GAC costs is less than $200. (2.5% match required)
  • Tractor Cab attacked by tree branch: Hargrave to investigate repairs. Damage does not interfere with tractor operation.
  • Some grass being left unmowed in hopes that it will reseed more densely.
  • GAC working with Michigan Works at no costs to GAC




Old Business




  • Bob Moffit reported that old fence project (ended in 2004) yeilded a balance due to the State of Michigan of $7,194.73. Bob reviewed accounting and concurs that the State is correct if not timely. County has agreed to pay 1/2 of balance and City to address issue at next City council meeting.
